David Cameron talks of the settled will of the Scottish people. It is a phrase which has reverberated time and time again. The Lothian Agreement was broken (the Purdah was violated) promises were made and a multitude of criticisms of the way that the Referendum was handled, wrong doing with the postal votes, the count itself, the media and much, much more.
History, not David Cameron, will decide what the settled will of the Scottish people is - and what it is likely that it would have been if the playing field had been level. The stronger the reaction of the people of Scotland in the years to come, the greater the deceit of the so-called settled will on the 19th September. What is certain, is that the Referendum will go down in history, as a low point in British democracy. That it shows that so far as the unionists are concerned, the ends justify the means, goes without saying, sadly.
