Highlights from the launch of a joint proposal by The New Economics Foundation (NEF) and The Commonweal, for a new complementary Scottish currency, with the working name, the ScotPound, which took place in Glasgow.

At the event, Duncan McCann, from NEF, highlighted why the current design of the British pound is bad for the UK economy and presents the case for a Scottish complimentary currency and alternative Scottish Payments system, which could strengthen the position of the independence movement and create a stronger more resilient Scottish economy.
